Sunbirds Autumn News 2023

Welcome back to school and the new term!

This term the Sunbirds class will be participating in activities around the topic of Colours. The children will be exploring the changing seasonal colours of Autumn and they will have lots of opportunites to experience colour mixing with paint and in sensory play activities.

The art and carft activities will involve skill building and topical seasonal work.  For example collecting leaves,  leaf printing,  painting and crafting autumnal objects and animals.

Our stories and songs will follow a colour theme and and rhymes and counting too using the topic of colour also.

This term the children have a rebound therapy session to look forward to on a Monday with Rehana and a dance session on a Thursday with Lucy. In the children's Shadow dance sessions the children  will be exploring dance movements within the theme of colour using colourful props, music and songs related to colours.

The children will have a session in the school's outside wooded area to explore nature which is another space alongside the schools' grounds.

We would like to ask for a volutary donation of  £1 each week for the class fund which will contribute towards the children's cookery on a Monday morning.

Wellies are always a good idea for the wet autumn months so do please send some in as our grounds do get muddy. It is also helpful if jumpers and coats are labelled with your child's name.

Thankyou from  Lizzy, Jacqueline, Vicky and Mykala
