Hydrotherapy
There is a purpose built hydrotherapy pool at school, which is used during therapy sessions and during class-based swimming sessions. The warm water can help to relax stiff muscles and it can allow children with muscle weakness move more easily and work towards strengthening their muscles. Water is often a very enjoyable activity for children and provides sensory feedback to their bodies, which helps improve body awareness and control of movement.
There are specialist hoist facilities that enable children with mobility problems the ability to access the pool environment.
